inca trail hike the 4-Day Lares Trek & Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Hike through remote Andean villages, meet local Quechua families, and enjoy stunning mountain views before joining the legendary Inca Trail to reach Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate. We will meet the previous day to give you all the information about the trek. Our tour guide will explain you specifically and in details all the daily walks so you can have a clear idea of your adventure with us to Machupichu.
We will come to pick you up early in the morning at your hotel with a touristic bus and leave first to Pisac ( 2925m) located in the Sacred Valley, and then Calca, Our last chance to buy things for our Trek and you can take fruits to the kids as a present passing by the lares trek
It is approximately 2 hours with the bus to get to Lares town, a small village in the mountains. We will then walk for about 5 minutes to arrive at the hot springs, Where we will enjoy a medicinal baths and have a healthy food which is fresh and hot.
After lunch, our walk will last 4 hours until the campsite in Huacahuasi (3750m).
After a nourishing breakfast, we begin the day with a scenic two-hour hike up to the Ipsayccasa Pass (4450 m), the highest point of our trek. From here, we descend for about 30 minutes to reach a stunning high-Andean lagoon, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and native wildlife. Along the way, we’ll likely encounter llamas, alpacas, and a variety of Andean birds.
Continuing downhill, we arrive at our lunch spot where we take time to relax and enjoy the views. In the afternoon, we hike to the traditional village of Pata Cancha, where a local bus awaits to take us to the village of Pallata.
Upon arrival in Pallata, we begin a one-hour hike to the little-known but fascinating Inca archaeological site of Pumamarca. After exploring the ruins, we follow a section of the original Inca Trail, descending through terraced valleys and ancient paths until we arrive in Ollantaytambo.
We’ll spend the night in a comfortable hotel in this charming Inca town, surrounded by impressive ruins and living history
Early in the morning, we board the train in Ollantaytambo and travel to KM 104 — the gateway to our Inca Trail experience. From here, we begin our hike along ancient stone paths, surrounded by stunning nature and sacred ruins. Over the course of 12 kilometers, the trail takes us higher and deeper into the Andes until we finally reach the Sun Gate, where Machu Picchu reveals itself in all its glory. After this magical arrival, we descend to Aguas Calientes for the night.
With the mist lifting over the mountains, we rise early for our final ascent to Machu Picchu. As the sun breaks over the peaks, the citadel appears like a dream carved in stone. We explore its timeless beauty, walking through temples, terraces, and hidden corners full of ancient energy.
After connecting with this sacred site, we return to Aguas Calientes, hearts full of wonder and memories that will last forever. Later, we board the train back to Ollantaytambo and continue our journey to Cusco — transformed by the magic of the Andes.
