Inca Trail For Less

Terms and Conditions – INCA TRAIL FOR LESS

1. Bookings and Payments

INCA TRAIL FOR LESS is a legally recognized travel agency based in Cusco, Peru, operated by experienced local professionals.

To book any of our tours or treks, the following personal information is required:

  • Full name (as it appears on your passport)

  • Nationality

  • Passport number

  • Date of birth

  • Gender

You must also complete the booking form and make a $200 USD deposit per person to secure your spot. This deposit is used for advance purchases such as entrance tickets to Machu Picchu, train tickets, and other logistical costs.

Payment Method

The deposit is paid via WeTravel, which may charge a service fee of up to 3%. This fee is the traveler’s responsibility.

Deposit Refund Policy

All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances. This is due to the fact that tickets are purchased in your name and cannot be changed once issued. According to Peruvian regulations, your passport number and other information are registered in the government system, and spaces are strictly limited.

The remaining balance must be paid in full before your trek or tour departs, typically in Cusco. For details, consult your assigned travel advisor at INCA TRAIL FOR LESS.

2. Cancellations and Refunds

For Tours that DO NOT include the Inca Trail ( Salkantay, Lares, Train Tours, etc.):

  • Cancellations made at least 60 days prior to the tour start date may be eligible for a partial refund, minus administrative costs and any non-refundable reservations (tickets, train passes, staff payments, etc.).

  • Cancellations made within 60 days of the start date are generally non-refundable, as most services will have already been booked and paid for.

To cancel, you must notify your travel advisor in writing. We strongly recommend keeping copies of all emails, contracts, and payment receipts for your records.

3. Assumption of Risk

By booking with INCA TRAIL FOR LESS, you acknowledge and accept the risks involved in adventure travel. Trekking and other outdoor activities often take place in remote areas where access to medical facilities is limited.

Each traveler is responsible for carrying their own medication, including remedies for allergies, altitude sickness, asthma, or other personal conditions. Please disclose any medical conditions before booking to ensure your safety during the tour.

Kindly let us know about your meal preferences or any dietary restrictions for the trek. This information helps our chef plan and prepare your meals carefully to make sure you enjoy every dish during your adventure

4. Local Laws and Traveler Conduct

All travelers are expected to comply with local laws and regulations, as well as follow the safety instructions provided by our guides. Failure to do so may result in removal from the tour without a refund.

Important: Occasional protests or road blockades in the Cusco region may disrupt access to Machu Picchu or other destinations. These events are unpredictable and beyond our control. We will do our best to provide alternative options, but we cannot be held responsible for disruptions caused by civil unrest or force majeure.

5. Passport Requirements

Upon booking, we immediately send your personal details to the relevant authorities to issue your Machu Picchu entrance tickets. Therefore, you must bring the same passport used during the reservation.

If you renew your passport before traveling, you must bring both your old and new passports for verification at entrance checkpoints. If you fail to bring the correct passport, INCA TRAIL FOR LESS cannot take responsibility for additional costs or denied entry.

6. Travel Insurance

INCA TRAIL FOR LESS strongly recommends purchasing comprehensive travel insurance. This can protect you against various risks, including:

  • Trip cancellation: Reimbursement for non-refundable costs if you must cancel for a covered reason

  • Medical emergencies: Coverage for hospital visits, treatment, or emergency evacuation

  • Lost or delayed baggage: Compensation for essential items

  • Travel assistance services: 24/7 emergency help including medical, legal, or translation services

  • Financial protection for trip interruptions, delays, or cancellations

Factors to Consider When Choosing Travel Insurance:

  • Coverage limits: Ensure coverage matches your needs (medical, trip cost, gear)

  • Policy exclusions: Understand what’s not covered (e.g. pre-existing conditions, extreme sports)

  • Trip duration: The policy must cover your full travel period

  • Cost vs. coverage: Make sure it offers good value

  • Provider reputation: Choose a reliable, well-rated company with good claim-handling history

Read your policy carefully and consult with your insurance provider to fully understand what is and isn’t covered.

7. Acceptance of Terms

By booking with INCA TRAIL FOR LESS, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. We recommend keeping a copy for your records.
