After 1:00 p.m., we’ll begin our exciting exploration of the historic city of Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Our first stop will be the awe-inspiring Temple of the Sun – Qoricancha, where Inca engineering meets Spanish colonial architecture. From there, we’ll head to the upper part of the city to visit the magnificent Sacsayhuamán fortress, built with massive stone blocks that continue to amaze historians and architects today.
The tour continues with visits to the ceremonial sites of Qenqo and Tambomachay, both known for their mystical significance and sacred water channels. Along the way, you’ll feel the powerful spiritual energy of the Andes and witness the legacy of a civilization that still lives on in its people and traditions.

Embark on an unforgettable journey through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a place where time slows down and the past speaks through mountains, ruins, and traditions still alive. This full-day tour connects powerful archaeological sites with Andean culture, breathtaking landscapes, and ancestral wisdom.
Chinchero – Land of Textiles and Living Tradition
Our adventure begins in the charming Andean village of Chinchero, nestled at 3,762 meters above sea level. Known as the "Rainbow Village," Chinchero is home to traditional weaving communities who preserve ancient Inca techniques passed down through generations.
Here, we visit a colonial church built on Inca foundations and witness a live demonstration of natural dyeing and loom weaving by local artisans — a beautiful expression of cultural resilience and creativity.
Moray – The Inca Agricultural Laboratory
Next, we head to Moray, one of the most enigmatic sites of the Sacred Valley. These massive circular terraces carved into a natural depression are believed to have been used by the Incas as an agricultural experimentation center.
Each level of the terraces has a different microclimate, allowing the Incas to simulate different growing conditions and adapt crops for various regions of the empire. It’s an outstanding example of Inca intelligence, harmonizing science with nature.
Maras Salt Mines – The White Jewel of the Andes
A short drive away, we reach the striking Salt Ponds of Maras, an ancestral system of thousands of small pools where salt has been harvested for centuries.
Fed by a natural underground spring rich in minerals, the water is evaporated by the sun, leaving behind pure pink Andean salt. Walking along the narrow paths between the pools offers a surreal and photogenic experience.
You’ll also have the chance to taste and purchase the famous Maras salt, valued for its flavor and healing properties
Ollantaytambo – The Last Living Inca City
Our day culminates in the majestic Ollantaytambo, a town and fortress that was both a ceremonial center and a stronghold against the Spanish conquest.
We’ll climb the impressive agricultural terraces and explore temples built with colossal stone blocks perfectly fitted — an architectural feat that continues to amaze.
From the top, the views of the Sacred Valley are breathtaking, and the spiritual energy of this place is undeniable.
Ollantaytambo is also one of the few places where you can still walk through original Inca streets, making it a true “living museum.
After an unforgettable day exploring the wonders of the Sacred Valley and concluding our visit at the impressive fortress of Ollantaytambo, we say goodbye to the highlands and continue our journey.
Later in the afternoon, we’ll board a scenic train ride that follows the winding path of the Urubamba River, offering breathtaking views as we descend into the lush cloud forest.
Our destination is the charming town of Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, we’ll check in at our hotel and enjoy a peaceful evening, preparing for the highlight of our adventure — the visit to the legendary Inca citadel of Machu Picchu the next morning.
